GRADE 1

SEMESTER I

22G1020 Basic Design-I (2-2) 3, 6 AKTS
The aim of the course is to increase students' perception and sensitivity to the natural and artificial environment; to develop their skills in approaching design by comprehending volume, ground, surface elements; to increase not only their intellectual skills but also their manual skills by carrying volume, ground, surface relations to a creative level.

2217G1001 Introduction to Interior Architecture and Environmental Design (3-0) 3, 5 AKTS
To teach the openings of interior architecture and environmental design department and interior architecture profession, to explain the concepts of space and environment and to make basic space analysis, to comprehend the design process, to be able to solve a simple interior design problem by teaching interior design principles through examples.

2217G1003 Building Detail and Materials-I (1-2) 2, 5 AKTS
The main objective of the course is to enable the student to comprehend the importance of material knowledge and accumulation in the realization of his/her decisions in the design process. In this direction, it is aimed to ensure that the student at the beginning of his architectural education has general knowledge about building materials, which is one of the tools he will use to realize his designs, to continuously improve his knowledge and to realize the importance of following the innovations in material technology in his professional success.

The aim of the course is to create knowledge of line, form, perspective, light and shadow, to provide hand-eye-mind coordination in drawing, to gain knowledge of alternative sketching materials and presentation approaches and to contribute to the development of creative thinking.

22GB1022 Technical Drawing-I (2-2) 3, 5 AKTS
The aim of the course is to provide basic geometry knowledge, use of technical drawing tools, learning technical drawing, scale and expression techniques and using it in the professional field, developing two and three dimensional perception and expression skills.

2075G1003 Foreign Language- I (2-0) 2, 2 AKTS
Grammar and vocabulary teaching in accordance with the content of the course, As a result of basic reading and writing lessons and listening and speaking activities, it is aimed that students a) learn the forms and uses of basic grammatical structures and use these structures correctly b) acquire the basic vocabulary required by A2 level c) recognize the structures they have learned in grammar lessons in reading passages appropriate to their level and express themselves both orally and in writing about them d) understand listening passages appropriate to A2 level and participate in oral activities related to them and express themselves orally correctly and comfortably.

Definition, importance and features of language; The birth of languages; languages on earth and their classification; Language-thought-culture relationship; The place of Turkish among the world languages; Historical periods of Turkish language, its current spreading areas; Characteristics of sounds in Turkish, classification and various sound events; Functions of roots and affixes in Turkish; Spelling rules, punctuation marks and their applications.

SEMESTER 2

The aim of the course is to enable students to explore space, to understand the importance of Euclidean and post-Euclidean geometries in relation to the human body and human movement in the construction of architectural space and to design in three dimensions.

Detailing of building materials used in the space; It is aimed to comprehend basic information about the principles of organization and application of elements such as flooring, walls, ceilings, doors and windows.

The aim of the course is to teach and develop the techniques of dimensioning in architecture, drawing different perspective types.

The student is expected to choose one of the different spaces and environments, create a user profile and life scenario, determine spatial and functional needs, and finalize the interior and environmental design by conducting the necessary research in the context of the design concept.

2217G2002 Sustainable Design Principles I (2-0) 2, 6 AKTS
It is aimed to create awareness against global environmental problems and to produce ecological design solutions for a sustainable life with a sense of responsibility.

22G1003 Scientific Research and Ethics (3-0) 3, 4 AKTS
This course starts from the concept of science, scientific knowledge and explains the stages and methods of research and aims to equip students with the ability to interpret scientific research and to develop an attitude to carry out this process within the framework of ethical rules.

Turkish Revolution History and Kemalism" course, the purpose of reading and the concept of revolution, the collapse of the Ottoman Empire and an overview of the reasons that prepared the Turkish revolution, the disintegration of the Ottoman Empire, the Armistice of Mudros, the situation of the country in the face of invasions and Mustafa Kemal Pasha's reaction, Mustafa Kemal Pasha's departure to Samsun, organization through congresses, Kuvayi Milliye and Misak-ı Milli. The aim of the course is to introduce the concepts related to the history of art, to compare civilizations, to be able to identify the artists and artists of various period works of art and to gain knowledge to question the differences in style.

 

22G2020 Computer-Aided Design-I (3-0) 3, 4 AKTS

Basic concepts of computer, internet and services, using Windows 7, MS Word 2010, MS Excel 2010, MS Powerpoint 2010, MS Access 2010. Basic concepts of computer hardware, turning on and off the computer, introduction to the operating system, recognizing the operating system of the computer, opening and closing programs, changing basic settings on the computer. It includes academic publication search and catalog scanning, introduction to word processing program and simple applications.
 

22G2022 Relationship between Cinema and Space (3-0) 3, 4 AKTS
It is aimed to evaluate the outdoor and indoor equipment in the context of cinema, to examine the visual way through the movements, to examine the individual fiction of space.

It is aimed to address the theories of architecture and design with typological and thematic approaches and analytical studies.

The aim of the course is to introduce the autocad program, to make interior designs in computer environment and to show the transfer of projects to computer environment.

This course aims to provide the student with the ability to design interior space and environment organization and design in parallel with the project topics as a result of analyzing the defined volume and its environment by examining the user requirements. The student is expected to choose one of the different spaces and environments, create a user profile and life scenario, determine spatial and functional needs, and finalize the interior and environmental design by conducting the necessary research in the context of the design concept.

2217G3002 Physical Environmental Control- I (2-0) 2, 3 AKTS
Students are expected to have knowledge about the basic concepts of acoustics in the context of interior architecture and environmental design. It is aimed to gain the ability to define acoustic problems in the architectural project and to develop design proposals for the prevention of adverse acoustic events (echo, focusing, standing wave, etc.) and to gain the ability to design integrated with physical environment control subsystems.

22G3004 Survey and Documentation-I (1-2) 2, 4 AKTS
After an overview of the historical environment and the value of buildings for social and physical spaces, it is aimed to introduce students to traditional and contemporary knowledge of measurement techniques and tools.

The aim of the course is to provide students with the ability to apply computer-aided graphic expression and modeling techniques and to make them practice in presenting their design ideas in electronic environment and to introduce new simulation languages.

To comprehend the emergence, place, function, development of photography in the history of visual material production and the differences of interpretation of distinguished photographers.

Information will be given about the facade cladding, columns, moldings, windows and many other aesthetic motifs used throughout historical periods. Architectural aesthetic features will be investigated periodically. Today, new architectural aesthetic styles that have developed in line with changing conditions and emerging needs will be investigated.

It is aimed to examine the concept of space in interior architecture, user actions, organization and design elements in space, and to reveal the perception of space with analysis.


22B4016 Presentation Techniques in Architecture (3-0) 3, 4 AKTS

The aim of the course is to develop students' freehand drawings, to explain the concept of perspective, to enable them to present their projects effectively by teaching various presentation techniques and to transfer architectural design formalization methods.

 

22B4017 Climate-Balanced Design (3-0) 3, 4 AKTS

The aim of the course is to determine the features that should be provided in the building according to climate types by making climatic analysis and to reach optimal solutions in building design by using this information.

 

22B4021 Advanced Conservation Techniques and Current Debates (3-0) 3, 4 AKTS

The aim of the course is to teach restoration techniques, to gain the ability to evaluate current applications and to discuss current concepts and issues in the protection of cultural heritage.

 

22B4022 Utopias in Urbanism (3-0) 3, 4 AKTS

The concept of utopia, the relationship between structure-space and environment in the future and the place of human, the concept of ideal city and city models will be emphasized.
